Rent Your Word on the Internet - Wordrent.com
Welcome to WordRent.com - How to Rent a Word
The concept of Wordrent.com is easy. There are 100 positions on the main page which can be taken up by a word of your choice. You can choose one of a number of colours to help make it stand out from the rest of the page and the word will be linked to a website of your choice.
All 100 positions on the main Wordrent page will initially be given away for free.
After that, if you want to take over that position on the page you will have to pay a higher rental fee than the person that was there before you. This means that a position that was rented initially for free can be rented by someone else for $1. A position that is being rented for $1 can be taken over by someone willing to pay $2 and so on.
All rental payments are one off charges, no monthly payments or anything like that. So if you rent a space initially for free and no one is willing to spend the money to rent it from under you, it is yours as long as the website stays live. The site went live at Christmas 2006 and will be kept active until at least Christmas 2010, so that means you could get 4 years of free traffic to your website if no one decides to rent the position you initially bagged for free

How to Rent a Word
1 - Simply go to the main page and click on the number for that position. This will take you to a page which will advise you how much you will have to pay to take over the position.
2 - Fill in the details on that page for the word you have chosen, such as selection of colour, URL, description etc and click the button at the bottom.
3 - If payment is required you will be sent to a page where you need to press the paypal button to pay.
4 - We will check your URL and website for appropriateness after payment is received (we reserve the right to refuse any site or word at our discretion). If we deem the word or site to be unacceptible then we will refund your payment and notify you by email. If it is acceptible, your word will go active normally between 24 and 48 hours later.
